Appearance: stain colour with a low lustre natural oil finish showing the grain.

NOTE: PURE is not pigmented so will allow the natural greying of timber to occur.

WHITE and NATURAL are not recommended in full sun and weather exposure due to potential discolouring.

VOC: zero

Durability: expect up to 12 months in horizontal exposure before maintenance is required, and 2 - 3 years in sheltered or vertical situations. This is a low build, penetrating product so never requires stripping or sanding. Simply apply a thin maintenance coat. 

Vapour Permeability: vapour permeable

Application : new and old wood must be cleaned first with RUBIO MONOCOAT Exterior Wood Cleaner then rinsed well and allowed to dry for 24 hrs. This removes some of the natural tannins and oils in timber so the Hybrid Wood Protector can penetrate and bond with the surface raw wood. If this step is skipped insufficient product may be absorbed. 

Apply Hybrid Wood Protector with a flat bush or applicator, leave to react for 10 mins then brush again with the same brush without applying new product. After 5 mins wipe off any excess oil. Thats it, you're done !

For surfaces which get a lot of wear such as floors, decks, kitchen worktops and bathroom furnishings, adding 10% Accelerator to the product has been shown to increase the wear resistance and longevity of the treatment.

Maintenance : very easy to maintain. Horizontal surfaces such as decks in full exposure will require maintenance more often than vertical surfaces. Horizontal surface in full exposure may require a top up coat annually. This is simply a matter of re-applying some of the original product with 10% Accelerator .  However, only a small amount of oil will be required for this maintenance coat (about half the original amount).  

Other areas such as vertical panels or those not in full exposure may last 2 - 4 years before requiring a refresh coat as above.

If the timber has started to grey or has stains, clean again with RUBIO MONOCOAT Exterior Wood Cleaner before applying the refresh coat of Hybrid wood Protector. If not, cleaning with water is sufficient. 

The appearance and longevity of the finish can be enhanced between refresh coats by periodically cleaning with RUBIO MONOCOAT Exterior Soap or Exterior Refresh Spray. These products nourish as well as clean the surface. 

NOTE: As expressed in the application, the longevity of the original coat will be much longer if the preparatory Exterior Wood Cleaner was used, and 10% Accelerator is added to the Hybrid Wood Protector on horizontal high wear surfaces.  

Drying: water resistant after 24 - 36 hrs and ready for use after 48 hrs. Full cure 7 days 
Coverage: Approximately 30m sq.M/L on exterior wood, and up to 50sq.M /L on interior wood.
