Linus Wood & Cotto Oil is a deeply penetrating cold pressed linseed oil which can be used as the priming/ first coat for the Livos wood oils. Slow drying - which allows thorough saturation and easy application on large areas.

Suitable: as a priming coat on very absorbent timbers, concrete, porous stone and mud brick.
Appearance: matt to low sheen. Will tend to give a lower sheen to the final finish when used as the first coat.
Colours: clear oil which will darken the timber or concrete.
Odour: is a mild linseed smell when applying and for a little while afterwards. No ongoing odour when dry.
VOC : initially when applying has some VOC's, but no ongoing VOC emissions when dry. See further information on the type of VOC in LIVOS Oils.
Durability: is good. Can be used in high traffic areas but requires Kunos or Ardvos as the final coats.
Vapour Permeability: is good. Allows the wood to breath.
Preparation: must be applied to new, clean wood, concrete, or stone.
Application: apply in temperatures above 12 degrees C. Apply with a brush or lambswool mitt on timber beams, and a lambswool applicator on floors. Allow to penetrate for 20 - 30 mins, then wipe off excess oil till touch dry. Its slow drying quality means it is easy to apply on large floor areas. Dry off all unabsorbed oil very thoroughly after 30 mins saturation time with clean absorbent cloths. Clean up brushes with Svalos Thinners.
Drying: Slow drying - requires 48hrs drying time before top coats are applied.
Coverage: Covers 12 - 18m2/L, depending on the absorbency of the surface.
Coats: one
